Davide Messina is Senior Vice President, Product & Innovations, Merchant Solutions Europe since 2020. In this role he is responsible of all the solutions offered to merchants through our partners like acquirers and PSP’s with a specific focus on Mastercard Digital Solutions (Click to Pay, Tokenization, MDES), Payment Gateway and Acceptance Solutions (Tap on Phone and Cloud Commerce). Prior to this role, Mr. Messina has held many key roles within Mastercard, having joined the company in 2003 as key account manager within the European division. He then headed the Regional Account Group for South-Central Europe, comprised of five Pan-European banks based in Italy, France and Germany. He was then Head of Central Europe and HGEM Market Development and afterwards Head of New Business and Acceptance Development at Mastercard Europe. Most recently, Mr. Messina served as General Manager of the Mastercard Enterprise Partnership, before joining for 5 years Mastercard Payment Gateway Services as Regional Head for Asia-Pacific, Middle-East & Africa, Latin America and finally for Europe. Mr. Messina, an Italian national, brings an extensive sales management and product expertise from previous organizations he worked at. Before joining Mastercard, he worked at Sara Lee, the American consumer products corporation, for more than eight years, and previously to that, he worked in Renault, Italy in the automotive space. Mr. Messina graduated with honors in 1992 with a degree in Economic Studies from the University of Rome "La Sapienza."
